Pure calcium cored wire

HOME > News
Pure calcium cored wire is to crush various deoxidation and desulfurization additives to be added into molten steel into certain particle sizes, and then wrap it with cold-rolled low-carbon steel strips to form a composite material with any length. With the help of the wire feeding unit, the specified number of cored wires will pass through the slag layer at a certain speed and reach the bottom of the ladle.

The calcium in the pure calcium cored wire and the aluminum oxide in the molten steel form a low melting point CaO-Al2O3 compound, so as to achieve the modification of Al2O3, and form a spherical or agglomerated CaS or CaS and MnS composite phase with the sulfide in the molten steel , to achieve deoxidation and desulfurization, microalloying and modification of the treated solution, to refine the grain, purify the grain boundary, improve the structure, improve the shape and size of non-metallic inclusions, improve the comprehensive mechanical properties of the steel, eliminate various Anisotropy, improve the purity of molten steel, and improve the pouring performance of molten steel.
Calcium treatment refers to the technology of adding calcium-based alloys to molten steel to control the morphology of inclusions in molten steel. Calcium reacts with aluminum oxides in steel to form CaO-AI2O3 series compounds with low melting point, so as to achieve anti-Al2O3. Modification of inclusions; formation of spherical or agglomerated CaS or CaS and MnS composite phase with sulfide in steel, avoiding the formation of dendritic MnS.

The methods of adding calcium-based alloys can generally be divided into injection method, wire feeding method and SCAT method. In order to ensure that the fed calcium wire can be evenly distributed in the ladle after melting, it is required that the wire feeding position must be at the position where the kinetic energy is stirred in the ladle. The position above the position of the argon gas column is just the position of stirring kinetic energy in the entire ladle, so the calcium wire should be inserted at this position, that is, the insertion position of the silk wire should be at the same level as the breathable brick. The depth and speed of wire feeding are related to the size of the ladle. Generally, the depth of wire feeding is 0.65~0.75H.
Pure calcium cored wire is used as a deoxidizer for molten steel refining. It can not only reduce nozzle clogging, but also avoid the formation of long strips of sulfide inclusions after adding calcium to the steel, thereby improving the anisotropy of the steel. With the help of the wire feeder, the molten steel is quickly input, melted and dissolved in the depth of the molten steel, and plays the role of deoxidation, desulfurization, and removal of inclusions. stability. Reduce the addition of precious elements and reduce refining costs.
It is suitable for calcium treatment of molten steel during the refining process outside the furnace. Φ13mm is suitable for small and medium electric furnaces with strong versatility, and Φ16mm is suitable for large electric furnaces.
